Jug got another shot but Primorje again held on to claim the Croatian cup. By beating their rivals 13-11 on Sunday in Zagreb Primorje successfully defended their 2012 cup title. After trailing 7-4 at half-time Jug came back until Ante Viskovic scored the 8-8 goal in the third period before Primorje delivered a big blow by scoring twice in response. Jug even looked for another comeback in the final session but Sandro Sukno's goal with 1.05 left (12-10) set up early celebrations by the Primorje fans in the Bazen na Savi in Zagreb. Marko Ivankovic responded quikcly for Jug scoring with 0.50 on the game clock before Romanian centre forward eliminated all uncertainty by netting the final shot of the game with 4 seconds remaining as celebrating the third cup win in team history began. Paulo Obradovic was elected Most Valuabe Player of the Final Four tournament in Croatia's capital this weekend.

The two favorites are to battle for this year's Croatian cup in the final on Sunday. Both Primorje and Jug, as expected, won their semi-finals on Saturday and will face each other for the title, once again. Defending champions Primorje opened their duel with Jadran Split in furocious fashion winning the opening quarter 7-1 and were not to be stopped in the remainder, although Jadran closed out the game by scoring a pair of unanswered goals in the fourth and final term but still lost 14-6. Jug faced hosts Mladost Zagreb in the second semi-final but also used a strong start (4-1) to gain a quick lead and built from there although the 'home team' remained closer throughout the next three periods. Captain Niksa Dobud's team-high three goals led Jug to a 12-9 victory and will now try to keep Primorje from successfully defending their Croatian cup title tomorrow.
