In a rematch of last year's final Szeged again triumphed for an impressive cup final run. The reigning champs defeated Szolnok on their home ground 9-5 to clinch a third consecutive Hungarian national cup trophy on Sunday. Left-hander Csaba Kiss and team top scorer Márton Szivós led the way for Szeged scoring three each as their team took an early 5-1 lead and extended it to 7-2 at half time. Both sides had convincingly reached the final on Saturday at the Szolnok Arena as Szeged rolled past Kaposvár 15-4 while Szolnok held off Vasas 11-8. In the final though the 'home side', despite the return of Serbian international Milan Aleksic to the line-up this weekend, suffered from an early setback and could not fully recover in the second half as Szeged went on to win by four.
