Nuestras chicas, hicieron ya los deberes tras una remontada espectacular ante la misma Holanda y delante de su público.

The men’s tournament at the current European Championships here in Eindhoven, Netherlands will advance to the semi-finals round on Friday with two big clashes that will decide if the European Championships title will remain in former Yugoslavian hands or could go to Hungary or Italy. In a rematch of the 2011 World Championships and World League final, Italy will face Serbia. The other semi-final will see a matchup between Montenegro and Hungary, for the first time since the 2008 Olympics semi-finals where Hungary beat Montenegro 11-9. Italy lost the World League Super Final to Serbia in 2011 with the Serbians earning a 2012 Olympics berth with the 8-7 final win but got beat by Alessandro Campagna’s team in the World Championships final 8-7 in extra time. Three of the four European representatives at the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games in London have qualified for the semi-finals with of course the title holder Croatia as missing fourth. Montenegro benefited and got past the big quarter final obstacle for the first time in recent times as the final eight round match was lost in both Shanghai (2011 Worlds) and Zagreb (2010 Europeans).
Both semi-finals should be very interesting. In the Italy-Serbia case to see who will prevail in the third big meeting in short time between both teams. As for the Montenegro-Hungary match, it will be interesting to see how far Montenegro can come against one of the hot medal favorites. A rejuvenated Montenegro team, playing an attractive, more active and swimming type of game will face a decent Hungarian team who just showed their quality for two strong quarters against Italy. But from their last group match, which was a kind of training session as they defeated Turkey 2-22, the reigning Olympic champions had four days without competition and will play a Montenegro team who comes out of a well-earned 9-11 quarter finals win against Greece and all fired up to continue their best result at a major tournament since the silver medal at the 2010 FINA World League Super Final in Nis, Serbia. The last big result at a major event beyond the World League was the fourth place at the 2008 Olympic Games, just a couple of weeks after their win at the 2008 European Championships in Malaga, Spain. The Hungarians are looking for a good result at Europeans as well, as their last European title dates back to 1999 when Croatia was beat 15-12 in the famous final at Florence, Italy. The last medal for the Hungarians was earned in Malaga, Spain 2008 where Croatia was beat again (15-14) for the bronze medal. With the returned Tamas Kasas fitting in, Denes Kemeny’s squad looks decent and confident to still their Europeans title hunger.
The game between Italy and Serbia will be the first of two semi-finals today. Although Italy won their last big meeting, obviously the 2011 Worlds final in Shanghai, Serbia can be considered as favorites. The 2011 World League winners showed some great games already against Croatia and Spain and are fired up to grab their first Europeans title since 2006 when Hungary was defeated 9-8 in the final in Belgrade, Serbia. Vanja Udovicic, Slobodan Nikic, Filip Filipovic, Dusko Pijetlovic and Andrija Prlainovic were national team members back then already. They will face an Italy team that is playing without their captain and star goalkeeper Stefano Tempesti but performed a great defensive well organized game against Germany allowing the Germans, who upset Croatia in the group stage 10-9, to score just four goals. The Italian defense must again be well organized in order to stop the great Serbian attack. With all the swimming power, we might see a tense and exciting game between both top teams again. This 2011 Worlds final rematch is scheduled at 18.00 local time while Montenegro and Hungary will square off at 20.00.

EINDHOVEN – Si ferma in semifinale la corsa verso la medaglia d’oro dell’Italia campione del mondo. Vince la Serbia 12-8, vendicando la sconfitta mondiale a Shanghai. Del resto con 3/14 in superiorità numerica è impensabile poter battere i campioni slavi, sotto 4-2 nel primo tempo, ma abili a sfruttare il fisico, il metro arbitrale e a spaccare la partita nelle frazioni centrali di 4-1 e 3-1.
LA CRONACA. Primo tempo con l’Italia sull’1-0, 3-2 e 5-4 con tre gol di Gallo a uomini pari, e addirittura sul momentaneo +2 con Figari (4-2). Nel mezzo l’unico vantaggio serbo con Udovicic (2-1), che s’imbuca nel cuore della difesa, dopo il pari di Aleksic in superiorità numerica (1-1); il 2-2 di Giorgetti che prende l’ascensore e supera le mani protese della difesa serba con l’uomo in più (1/1) e i gol in sequenza di Filipovic (2/2) e Stefan Mitrovic per il tiro diretto del 4-4.
Il secondo tempo è più lento. La Serbia fa sentire il proprio peso fisico e blocca i movimenti che nel primo tempo hanno avevano aperto varchi per gli attacchi azzurri. L’Italia fallisce tre superiorità numeriche consecutive, la Serbia 2/4 e piazza un break di 4-1 realizzato con Filipovic, nuovamente dai 5m, Saponjic (3/6) a 5’20 che dà il vantaggio ripreso da una magia di Felugo (6-6), e i gol di Prlainovic (4/7) sei contro cinque e Stefan Mitrovic per l’8-6 a 7’33. Nel mentre espulso Gitto, per una gomitata a Pijetlovic. Si fa durissima. L’Italia non riesce a giocare in velocità e, inchiodata sul perimetro, non trova conclusioni semplici; nel terzo parziale sbaglia altre quattro superiorità numeriche e scivola sul -5 a causa dei gol di Cuk dalla distanza, Udovicic in controfuga e Filipovic su un rigore contestato che frutta l’ammonizione a Campagna. A 6’04 si torna al gol dopo otto minuti con Figari per l’11-7 in più (3/8). Poco per rientrare, ma non per continuare a spingere e provarci. Nel quarto parziale Figlioli segna il -3 a 3’11; in precedenza altri due errori con l’uomo in più per parte e il palo su rigore di Prlainovic. L’Italia difende bene con l’uomo in meno, ma non si sblocca in superiorità (3/14) e a -1’57 subisce il colpo del ko da Aleksic, che supera con un pallonetto ravvicinato Volarevic, subentrato a Pastorino a inizio tempo, per il 12-8.
LE DICHIARAZIONI DEL CT CAMPAGNA: “La Serbia ha giocato con maggiore aggressività, indirizzando la partita su un contatto fisico non punito dagli arbitri. Non abbiamo perso nulla. Essere qui tra, le prime quattro, è motivo di orgoglio. Ci giocheremo tutto per il bronzo. Purtroppo la nostra zona, che ci ha consentito di vincere il campionato del mondo, non ha funzionato; ma considero questo europeo un’ulteriore tappa per la nostra crescita, soprattutto per continuare ad elevare il nostro gioco”.
IL CAPITANO FELUGO: “Complimenti alla Serbia. E’ stato un match combattuto. Loro non hanno mollato mai. Una delle chiavi è anche la poca prolificità con l’uomo in più. Loro hanno trovato buone soluzioni dai 5m; noi invece abbiamo sbagliato tanto”.

EINDHOVEN – Il Montenegro raggiunge la Serbia in finale con una vera e propria impresa. E’ riuscito a battere l’Hungary nei supplementari (gol decisivo di Jokic) senza quattro giocatori importanti come Ivovic, Mladjan Janovic (espulso per proteste), Paskovic e Radovic. La squadra di Kemeny, dal canto suo, ha perso una grande occasione. E l’ha persa anche nei tempi regolamentari: sul punteggio di 12-11 ha avuto a disposizione una doppia superiorità numerica per chiudere l’incontro.

The Romanian men’s team is playing for the seventh place
at the 2012 European Waterpolo Championships again. Today the Tricolori gained a
precious 16-15 victory on penalties against the dethroned champion Croatia and
qualified for the Olympic Games Qualification Tournament. Spain beat the hosts
Netherlands in the next match to secure the final available ticket
for 'Edmonton' as they won 14-9 with Xavi Garcia scoring five goals. The first
finalist of the tournament is 2011 world championships runners-up Serbia as they
gained a big and confident 8-12 win over Italy in a packed Pieter van den
Hoogenband Swim Stadium on Friday. Italy benefited from a slumpy start by the
normal solid Serbian goalie Slobodan Soro but were trailing from the second
quarter already as the Serbs took the 6-8 lead through a Stefan Mitrovic power
play goal after Niccolo Gitto got the exclusion with substition for a elbow-hit
on Serbia's centre-forward Dusko Pijetlovic. In a strong third quarter Serbia
ran out to a 6-11 lead before Niccolo Figari and Pietro Figlioli (fourth
quarter) brought the Italians within three: 8-11. The second goal by Milan
Aleksic brought the final score to 8-12. Serbia will await the winner of the
meeting between Montenegro and Hungary in the final. The results of today´s

27/01/2012 - El pasado verano, en un intenso duelo, Italia le arrebataba la corona a Serbia en el Mundial de Shanghai 2011. Hoy, los serbios han dejado fuera de la final continental a Italia por un claro 8—12 aquí en Eindhoven. En otros partidos del día, Rumanía se metía en el Preolímpico al ganar por penalties a la campeona de Europa, Croacia (16—15). En la otra semifinal, Montenegro ganó a Hungría en la prórroga (14—13). Y para las últimas plazas 11ª y 12ª, Macedonia le ganó a Turquía (9—7).

Za utamice koje će odlučivati o plasmanu organuzator je postavio dodatne tribine koje primaju oko 300 gledalaca. Očekuje se puno gledalište, dosta srpskih navijača. Primećen je veliki pano podrške iz Bačkog Brestovca kao i pano sa naslikanim srcem gde piše RS= SRS.
PRVA ČETVRTINA: Loše je počelo.U prva četiri minuta isto toliko puta su Italiiani pogodili mrežu Sora. Italija je vodila 4:2 .Golove za naš tim su postigli Aleksić i Udovičić. Na 4:3 je sa igračem više smanjio Filipović 2,50 do kraja. Gocić je propustio veliku priliku da izjednači a posle toga Pastorino brani još jedan udarac.Izjednačenje postiže Stefan Mitrović (2,02). Raspoloženi Galo još jednom vara nesigurnog Sora za 5:4 i u igri je umesto njega Branislav Mitrović. Ispada lopta Stefanu Mitroviću sa igračem više. Ostaje 5:4 za Italiju.
DRUGA ČETVRTINA: Odbranili smo se sa igračem manje.Pastorino brani udarac Filipovića kada smo imali igrača više.U narednom napadu posle faula Filipović izjednačuje 5:5 pet minuta pe kraja.Velika borbe, nervoza i dobre odbrane.Italija dobija igrača više i loše organizuje napad. Propuštamo igrača više pa obostrano isključenje Udovičića i Djordjetija. Sa igračem više pogadja Šaponjić drugo vodjstvo 6:5.Odbrana mnogo bolja. Italijani posle očiglednog kontrafaula Feluga postižu izjednačenje 6:6 1,48. Drugi put obostrano isključenje ovoga puta Ćuk ali smo tu oštećeni.Dobijamo igrača više kojeg realizuje Prlainović 7:6 (1,17).Zbog grubosti Gito je izbacen sa pravom zamene. Mitrović je strelac za 8:6 (0,23). Izbačen je Aleksić, druga lična greška. Vrlo nervozna igra Italijana sa dosta provokacija i udaraca. Naši mirni, uspeli su da se posle šokantne četvrtine vrate u igru.
TREĆA ČETVRTINA: Uzeli smo loptu i spasili igrača manje. Igrač više za Italiju. Odlični Mitrović.Stativa Italijana iz dobre pozicije. Ćuk pokazuje kakav udarac ima 9:6 5,55.Ponovo sjajno Mitrović reaguje i osvaja loptu.Kontra i gol Udovičića 10:6 5,26. Italijani šutiraju preko gola.Nervoza u njihovom napadu. Igrač više i prečka Ćuka.Polivina četvrtine 10:6. Kampanja menja golmana, tu je Hrvat Volarević koji odmah dobro brani. Igrač više za Italiju, treća lična Gocića. Kampanja traži tajm aut 3,44. Lopta pogadja blok. zatim Ikardi udara preko vode ali nema sankcija.Peterac za Srbiju na Nikiću.Karton Kampanji. Filipović trese mrežu 11:6 2,28 do kraja. Igrač više za Srbiju 5,30.Izuzetno ružna . prljava igra Italije koju sudije uglavnom sankcionišu.Udovičić u blok, prerano. Sjajan gol Filjolija 4,49 za 11:8. Naš napad je neambiciozniji nego u prethodne dve četvrtine. Italijani osvajaju loptu. Sjajan blok Prlainovića.Udovičić propušta zicer.Karton našem selektoru iako su sudije pogrešile jer je trebalo da izbace Italijana 3,19, Igrač više ali brani Volarević.
