Living up their role as favorites Primorje have clinched the first national championship of Croatia since becoming independent after Mladost Zagreb was beaten 3-0 in the play-offs finals on Wednesday. In game 3 at home the team so full of star players cohesively worked towards the historic national title for the two-time Adriatic league winner. Both sides were levelled 2-2 after the opening quarter but then it was all Primorje who took off scoring 6 goals in the next eight minutes to comfortably lead 8-5 at half-time. The visitors from the Croatian capital could not turn around the game in the third session and instead were held scorelees in the final period when everyone knew the outcome and championship was in the hands of Primorje. The team this time on offence was led by Spanish left-hander Xavi Garcia and Hungarian star Daniel Varga who each scored thre goals. Both Romanian centre-forward Cosmin Radu and former Mladost player and Croatian international Petar Muslim added a pair.
