The VII Darko Cukic Memorial, a highly competitive men's U15 junior tournament in Belgrade, Serbia with ten teams from nine nations, alreday brought some big clashes and big emotions in the Preliminary Round matches, where Montenegro and Serbia finished first. The first surprise was created by Hungary's last place in Group B so that the juniors of the new FINA World Champion missed the play-off matches for the places 1-8 here in Belgrade. The results are as follows:

Hungary gained only one victory in the prelims of Group A, beating Germany 14-10. But the Germnans gained a 9-9 tie against Croatia and stopped the still unbeaten Greeks in the last Preliminary Round session by a comeback victory, 11-10. Earlier this day Serbia had beaten Hungary by one goal, 10-9 to give the local heroes the first place in this batch at the end and to push Hungary down to the bottom and the ranking match for place nine.
