Busy week for water polo world  ( FINA.org )

The 4th FINA Men's Water Polo Development Trophy, organised from May 6-11, is underway in Kuwait City (KUW) with 11 teams from the Americas, Asia and Africa in the race for top honours.
The teams of Egypt, Guatemala, Kuwait, Peru, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Tunisia, Uruguay and Uzbekistan are taking part in the 2013 edition. It is the first time that teams from Egypt, Peru, Puerto Rico, South Africa and Uzbekistan compete in the Development Trophy.
So far, Egypt and Saudi Arabia top the Group A standings with two victories each while Uzbekistan remains unchallenged in Group B, also with two wins.
Among the day 2 highlights, a thrilling battle played out between the Egyptian and Tunisian teams with the first defeating the latter by a final score of 19-7. The team from the host federation also hit the water for the first time in the tournament, crushing Guatemala 24-3.
Day 3 will see the top 2 teams from Group A, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, meet in an important match which will likely determine the first place position in the group.
Men's and Women's World League 2013 - Asia/Oceania tournament kicks off May 9
3 men's (China, Japan, New Zealand) and 4 women's (same trio plus Australia) teams are gearing up for the Asia/Oceania tournament, held in Auckland (NZL) from May 9-14, 2013 and at the end of which two men's and two women's teams will qualify for the FINA Water Polo World League Super Finals.
The 12th men's Super Final will be held from June 11-16, 2013 in Chelyabinsk (RUS) while the 10th women's Super Final is scheduled from June 1-6, 2013 in Beijing (CHN).
The Chinese men's water polo squad achieved their best World League result by taking 6th in the 2012 edition while Japan and New Zealand placed 7th in 2009 and 14th in 2008, respectively.
In the women's field, the battle will be fierce between Australia, 2012 Olympic bronze medallist and 2012 World League silver medallist, and China, whose team finished just out of medal range in the World League last year, losing to 2011 World champions Greece.
