Definida la final de la LEN Euro Cup (RFEN)

El Radnicki Kragujevac, verdugo de CN Sabadell y CN Mataró Quadis, se medirá al Rari Nantes Florentia en la final de la LEN Euro Cup.

Los balcánicos se han deshecho del Debrecen imponiéndose en los dos encuentros (9—6 y 10—12), mientras que los transalpinos han hecho valer su triunfo por 6—8 en la ida para la vuelta, cerrada con empate.

After their 9-6 semi-final leg 1 home win over Hungarian representative Debrecen two weeks ago, the new Serbian top team of Radnicki Kragujevac secured their spot in the LEN Euro Cup final beating Debrecen again on Wednesday: 10-12. But the Serbs had to overcome a good star by the hosts who led 3-1 after the first quarter thanks to both of their top shooters veteran Tamas Varga and returned Italy international Alex Giorgetti. That needed comeback started in the second term in which the game was turned around and Radnicki had a two-goal advantage at the main break: 4-6. In the second half Debrecen managed to reduce their deficit to just one goal two times (6-7 and 10-11) but Radnicki responded just in time twice to secure the win and a final berth in their first ever participation in an European club competition. They will be joined by another debutant: RN Florentia. The Tuscans eliminated two-time defending champs Savona after reaching an 11-all draw in the second leg on Wednesday at home. A 6-7 lead by the visitors at half time was made undone in the final period with Spanish star Albert Español once again leading the way scoring five goals. An equalled offensive performance by Savona's Valerio Rizzo was not enough. The 6-8 win in Savona from two weeks ago proved decisive as Italy's national league's current number two will battle for a historic international trophy in March and April.
