Fallecimiento de Abe Fuchs ( R.I.P. )

Abe passed away on Friday 15/2/2013 in Antwerp and was buried in Jerusalem Israel on the 17/2/2013.

Abe was burn at 25/4/1930 he was a goalkeeper and participate at Maccabean game on 1949.
At that time he also started to be a referee and after as delegate.
Abe participate in 5 Olympics games, world championships and other big events all over the the world.
He was top referee whistle finals games and was a special person among the water polo family.
At the last years his health becomes bad and on the past year he stopped working with his second love the diamonds.

LEN has learnt with great sadness that Abe Fuchs (BEL), a former LEN TWPC member has passed away. Abe Fuchs was a legendary referee in the sixties and seventies who officiated at the major tournaments, including Olympic Games, World and European Championships. His most memorable match was the final of the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City. Later he served his beloved sport as delegate at international events. He was member of the LEN TWPC for almost two decades. His memory will stay with us forever

Abe Fuchs passes away

LEN has announced that former LEN TWPC member Abe Fuchs from Belgium has passed away. Fuchs was a legendary referee in the 1960s and 1970s who officiated in many major tournaments, including Olympic Games, World and European Championships. His most memorable match was the final game of the 1968 Olympic tournament in Mexico City, Mexico between Yugoslavia and the Sovíet Union.

Fuchs was one of the well-known names of his age and officiated in five Olympic tournaments - 1964, 1968, 1972, 1980 and 1984. Later he served as delegate in international events and was member of the LEN TWPC for almost two decades until 2004.
