Hungary wins 2015 Universiade thriller final

Hungary have repeated as champions of the summer World University Games by winning the 2015 edition in Gwangju, Korea on Tuesday in a thrilling final. Only after 13 penalty shots the Magyars managed to edge Italy for the 13-14 victory. Cristiano Mirarchi, after having missed his first attempt during the series, which was compensated by Hungary's Tamas Sedlmayer sawing his attempt saved, again missed in the second series but this time in was in the sudden-death phase. And Sedlmayer made no mistake scoring to finish the game at 13-14 as Hungary became the first team to win back-to-back water polo Universiade gold medals since USA did that in 1991 and 1993. The Americans this time grabbed the bronze medal topping Serbia 4-5. The race for a 9th place finish was won by the Netherlands who on Tuesday rolled past Turkey in the second half to post a clear 19-9 final score while China finished behind them after beating hosts Korea 10-12.
