This week, the Canadian Men’s Senior National team travelled to Spain to continue their preparations for the World League Qualification Tournament, in Shanghai, China, next month. The week will consist of joint trainings as well as two official games with the Spanish national team.
The first of these games took place on Wednesday April 16, 2014 in Barcelona. The final result of the game was a 10-10 draw, which is one of the best results ever for Team Canada versus the Spaniards.
Leading the way for Canada, with 3 goals, was newcomer Zak Kappos. Team Canada also received spectacular center-position play from both Nicolas Constantin-Bicari and Oliver Vikalo. Canada was also support by a stellar second-half performance from goaltender Dusan Aleksic.
The game was a back-and-forth battle with the two teams never being separated by more than two goals. After Spain took the lead with barely 1:31 seconds in the game the outcome did not look good for the Canadian side, however, with only 4 seconds left on the clock, Canada was able to tie the game thanks to a heroic goal from Constantin-Bicari.
Canada will continue to train with Spain side throughout the week and will end the trip with a second official game on Saturday April 19, 2014.

Kappos 3, Constantine-Bicari 2, Conway 2, Robinson 1, Taschereau 1, Boyd 1
